Located in Walnut Creek, California, with eight total offices, environmental engineering firm RMC Water and Environment strives to protect water. To help it remain current, RMC Water and Environment maintains membership with several professional affiliations, including the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA).
Established in 1910 when five irrigation districts joined forces, the ACWA began as the Irrigation Districts Association. It changed its name in 1973 to better reflect its role in the state. Since its inception, the ACWA has grown to include 430 agency members which together deal with 90 percent of the water delivered to areas in California.
Each year, the ACWA hosts a spring conference and exhibition, with the 2016 event occurring on May 3 through 6 at the Monterey Marriott and Portola Hotels. With a theme of “2016: It’s Go Time,” the conference included forum discussions, keynote speakers, technical presentations, and a variety of committee meetings. Attendees had a chance to network with exhibitors and learn about what is new in water products and services. Those who attended also had an opportunity to participate in a golf tournament at the Del Monte Golf Course, also in Monterey.
